Sail on Schooner American Spirit to Mt. Vernon! 2


Many have been asking about longer trips on the American Spirit.  Now that the New Wilson Bridge is open, we are excited to announce the first of many 'Adventure Sails'.

Our first excursion will be to George Washington's colonial estate, Mt Vernon.  Guests are invited to participate as crew by hoisting sails, steering the vessel or checking the lead line.  Upon arrival, crew can visit the estate of our founding father.  Additionally, a Revolutionary War encampment will be visiting Mt Vernon the date of our trip.

 Bring warm clothing, sunscreen a book and good walking shoes!

Time and Date
Sunday, Sept 30
Departure:  Leave Gangplank Marina in Washington DC @ 8:30am.
Arrival at Mt. Vernon: Between 11:30am and 12:30pm.
Departure from Mt. Vernon:  Time of departure will depend on weather.  Guests should expect between 2 and 4 hours at Mt. Vernon.
Return to Gangplank: Between 5pm and 6pm.

Snacks and beverages will be provided on board.  Guests should bring lunch or purchase one at Mt. Vernon.

Cost
Admission to Mt. Vernon is included with cost of the trip.
Existing NMHF Members (and immediate family) are $70.00.
Non Members are $125 (includes membership to NMHF with discounts on other excursions and rental privileges on some of our smaller boats).

Payment can be made by cash, credit card, or check.
Payment is expected two days before departure (September 28).  If the cruise is cancelled due to bad weather another cruise will be scheduled in October or money returned.
