1Sail Overnight on the Schooner American Spirit to National Colonial Farm and Hard Bargain Farm

The American Spirit is setting sail for a two day trip to celebrate Colonial Day at National Colonial Farm and spend the night at Hard Bargain Farm’s lodge.  This trip includes sailing, colonial games, visits to old and new farms and lots of outdoors.  Both farms have miles of trails in the Piscataway Park area.

National Colonial Farm
At National Colonial Farm, guests can take part in the Colonial Challenge or observe interpreters daily activities. The Challenge includes many events like fire starting, mattress stuffing, fence building, wood sawing, hill making and candle making. http://www.accokeek.org/visit/national_colonial_farm

Hard Bargain Farm
After visiting National Colonial Farm, spend a leisurely evening at the lodge at Hard Bargain Farm.  Ride to shore on our dinghy, take a hay ride, build camp fires, visit the animals and take long hikes. http://www.fergusonfoundation.org/hbf/hbf_index.html

Time and Date
Oct 6 Departure:  10:00 am October 6 from Gangplank Marina in Washington DC.
Between 1:00 and 2:00pm:  Arrive National Colonial Farm
4:30pm leave National Colonial Farm and arrive at the shore of Hard Bargain Farm about 5:00pm
Oct 7 Morning:  Tour of the barns and animals at Hard Bargain Farm
1:00 pm schooner departs
3:00pm-5:00pm arrival at Gangplank Marina in Washington DC

-Food-
We provide all food.  We will bring a cooler on board the American Spirit for people with special dietary requirements who need to bring their own food. 

-Notes-
Guests will have to climb approximately 3 feet!  The dock at National Colonial Farm sits above the deck of the American Spirit.  For people with difficulty climbing, we can bring you to shore by dinghy.
Bring your sleeping bag!The lodge at Hard Bargain Farm has two open areas with 44 bunks. 
Shoes may get  wet.  Bring sandals, Tevas or shoes that can get wet for the dinghy trip.

-Cost-
$200 for existing members and their immediate families.  $275 for non-members (includes membership).  There is a $2.00 charge at National Colonial Farm.
