NMHF Gears Up for the 3rd Annual BIG Team Regatta
With 12 boats already signed up this year’s BIG Team Regatta promises to be even more competitive than ever, and the most successful fundraiser to date for Kids Set Sail! Please join us in thanking corporate friends such as Booz-Allen Hamilton, Old Mutual Financial, PN Hoffman, Akridge, Allstate, Security Storage and the Brick Companies for their generosity and continued support of our mission.

2007 BIG Team Regatta Team Focus:
Old Mutual Financial Network
The Old Mutual/NMHF relationship can be traced back to one guy: Bob Jett. Bob is a long time sailor on the Chesapeake Bay and has been instrumental in encouraging and nurturing Old Mutual’s outstanding support of youth sailing in Washington, D.C.
Old Mutual Financial Network, with operations in Baltimore, Maryland, and Atlanta, Georgia first raced in the BIG Team Regatta in 2004 and has been actively participating in the BIG Team Regatta DC every year since. In 2006 Old Mutual Financial Network was the single largest corporate sponsor of the BIGTEAM Regatta DC. With sales offices and service centers around the nation, we are honored by their generosity and grateful for their continued support. Old Mutual Financial Network is part of a multinational corporation of insurance and investment companies with well over $25 Billion in assets, yet locally serves all 50 States and the District of Columbia with personal service.

With 3 boats entered in our local regatta in 2006, Old Mutual was able to send the greatest number of participants and guests to the BIG Team Regatta, which makes them a force to be reckoned with on the race course. Unfortunately, in the BIG TEAM Regatta 2006, Old Mutual was not able to take a trophy, so we welcome them back this year to challenge last year’s trophy winner – hopefully not the rusty rudder winner!
Volunteer for the BIG Team Regatta!
Want to help out for a great event? The Regatta Committee is making BIG plans for our next race in September. If you like to have fun and sail this is a great group for you. The BIG is going into its fifth year and has raised over $100,000 for NMHF on the water programming. This year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever! Our co-chairs for this terrific event are Adam Levithan, from True-Wind Coaching, LLC, and Kyra Szanto, from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and we have five returning committee members from last year. Would you like to get involved? Please contact Kevin Traver at KTraver@NMHF.org for more information.
