Adult Sailing

dcsailNMHF offers Washington, DC's first and only community sailing program. Our mission is to provide access to the water, regardless of means, by the establishment of a full-scale community sailing facility along the Washington, DC waterfront.

Adult Small Boat Sailing Programs include:

  • Sailing Lessons for Beginners
  • Advanced Sailing Lessons
  • Refresher, Capsize and Spinnaker Courses
  • U.S. Sailing Certification
  • Wednesday Social Sails
  • Thursday Night Racing
  • Group Sails
  • Weekend Rentals

Adult Sailing, a program of the not-for-profit National Maritime Heritage Foundation, is a ground-breaking model of that goal. NMHF, volunteers, and the community are currently working towards our 2009 goals of:

  • Increasing awareness of the value and potential of the Potomac & Anacostia Rivers,

  • Building a model for a larger full-scale community sailing center, and

  • Raising money and support for the Kids Set Sail program, bringing children from all corners of Washington, DC together to share in maritime education.

Please support our efforts by joining us on the water, making a donation, or becoming a volunteer.
