DC Sail is Washington, DC's first and only community sailing program. We provide sailing lessons, boat rentals and fleet racing on the Washington Channel for both youth and adults.

Our mission is to provide access to the water, regardless of means, by the establishment of a full-scale community sailing facility along the Washington, DC waterfront.

DC Sail, a program of the not-for-profit National Maritime Heritage Foundation, is a ground-breaking model of that goal. The NMHF, volunteers, and the community are currently working towards our 2008 goals of:

• Increasing awareness of the value and potential of the Potomac & Anacostia Rivers,

• Building a model for a larger full-scale community sailing center, and

• Raising money and support for the Kids Set Sail program, bringing children from all corners of Washington, DC together to share in maritime education.
